Is vinyl better than wood?

Neither is better across the board; they are different trade-offs. Vinyl does not need staining or sealing and wipes clean. Wood takes stain or paint, so the colour is yours to change, and a single board can be replaced. We install both, and we will give you a straight comparison for your yard.

What styles does vinyl come in?

Privacy and picket are the common ones, and vinyl gates can be built to match so the whole run reads as one fence. We also do ranch rail in vinyl on farm and ranch properties. If you would rather have the look of split rail or ornamental aluminum, we install those too.

Can vinyl fence be installed on a slope?

Yes, usually stepped rather than racked. Vinyl sections are pre-formed, so they do not flex to follow a grade the way wood rails do — on sloped ground each section stays level and steps down. On a steep line we will tell you at the estimate whether vinyl or wood gives you the look you want.

Does vinyl hold up in the mountains?

We install vinyl right across Western North Carolina, from town yards to exposed sites. It does not rot and it does not need staining. On a very exposed or heavily shaded site we will talk the trade-offs through with you before you decide, rather than quote you a number of years.

Will vinyl pass my HOA?

HOA rules differ from neighbourhood to neighbourhood, so it is worth checking before anything is ordered. Send us your covenants or the HOA’s fence requirements and we will build to them, and we handle the permitting on your behalf.
