Should I Paint or Stain my Wood Fence?

Stain it. (Of all the hard questions in life, isn’t it nice when there’s a simple answer?)

Wood absorbs stain much deeper than it does paint. This means that paint, as it ages, starts to chip, peel, and appear worn, requiring immediate attention as it shows signs of wear and tear. By contrast, stain will simply fade over time, allowing you time and breathing space to restain when ready (mentally and financially).

Who Is Asheville Fence?

Who is Asheville Fence? We’re a family-owned business that was founded on stubbornness! Back in 1965, Jerry Halloway’s father flat out refused to retire. Instead, he started a fence business. Jerry and his wife, Carla, ran the company, carving a niche into the Western North Carolina frontier as a top provider of high quality fencing for a variety of applications. Today, Carla continues to hold the reins. Jerry passed away, and her second husband, Mike, helps run the operation. Quality, integrity, and an unerring sense of community continues to drive Asheville Fence.
